Revolting

It’s revolting
The way they forget our names
And forget our faces
And forget that we have hearts and souls
And that we too are people
It’s revolting the way they toy.
They toy with our emotions
And with our hearts
And dangle them like a yoyo
Or a dog on a leash
It’s revolting the way we let them get away with it
And even more so the way they joke about it afterwards.
It’s revolting to realize that we want it enough to give in
And enough to lose what we believe in.
